Epi 37: Michael Hutchence: Poetry in Motion

So it’s that time again where we posthumously acknowledge the birthday anniversary of that sweet soul of INXS charismatic frontman, Michael Kelland Hutchence.
 
Unfortunately gone but never forgotten we focus this deep dive on Michael’s work, not the image.
 
Never one to stray from having a pen and pad handy, Michael put pen to some of the most heartfelt and enduring lyrics. Lyrics that were often understated and definitely underrated. Combining these poetic words with a vocal phrasing and delivery that swooned the hearts and heads of females worldwide and the feet and minds of their male counterparts, Michael’s words and voice live on eternally.
So we examine the legacy today of these two undefinable attributes and illustrate them with examples of gushing joy.

Epi 36: A Tribute to Chris Murphy- INXS Manager

“It’s with great sadness that Bee and I learn of the sudden and premature death of INXS Manager Chris Murphy.
 
Always ahead of the curve, Chris’ business contribution and cutting edge marketing prowess saw Chris have the Midas touch.
Condolences to all the band, the team at Petrol, and to his family.
 
We know that the INXS community is in shock with this news and we send out our love to you all.
We have to love one another!

Epi 35: INXS v AC/DC

“We’re back in black, it’s been too long, we’re glad to be back”!
Hello and all and best thoughts for 2021.
We’re both excited to join you all again, as we do our second battle of the bands, whereby we compare the career trajectories of these iconic Sydney Australian supergroups. Both achieved the lofty domestic success that then translated internationally with a “live concert” repertoire seducing fans globally. Both suffered the heartfelt loss of popular frontmen in the most unfortunate of circumstances.
Today however we dive deep into the similarities and successes of these iconic bands with a healthy swag of joy, gusto, and “air guitar”.
So as a famous Spinal Tap member said, “turn it up to 11” and enjoy folks!

The Bee-line with Nick Egan

A special treat for some uber INXS fans and Patrons of INXS Access All Areas.
Bee has now for 2021 started a new segment called, the Bee-line. She will be zooming in with some of INXS's friends and finding out more about the INXS lifestyle, from people who knew them. 
We kick off with this special zoom chat with a Big friend to the show, Nick Egan. Nick Egan was not only a very close friend of Michael's but was also the art director and producer of the iconic Kick and X album covers, as well as directing a few of their music videos. Merry Christmas 2020
So if the almighty holy man up in the sky is true, surely we can ask for a refund for 2020!!
A year lost, sacrifices made and liberty compromised. But as they say “never waste a crisis” and that’s how INXS: Access all Areas was born.
In lockdown with no longer procrastination as an excuse, Bee and myself in May 2020 started a journey to celebrate all things about this iconic band INXS and bring a community along for the ride.
Now it’s Xmas and as a once fallen icon opined “what have you done, another year over, a new one began”, we rejoice in this magical time of year where we need family and each other more than ever.
So to all of our INXS: Access all Areas patrons and family, our heartfelt thanks, festive cheer, and love go to you as we see out the year with this “Special Xmas Edition” hitting your inbox stockings for Xmas.

Epi 32: The Max Q, Part 2 Michael v Murphy

They say that “art vs commerce” are often mutually exclusive...
 
Well in the case of MAXQ this is certainly true. Riding high on the universal love of INXS’ Kick juggernaut, Michael Hutchence and Chris Murphy were completely opposed as to what should come next. “Capitalise on INXS’ ascent into the pantheon of musical giants or allow members to recharge the batteries and pursue longstanding individual projects?”
With the latter being the chosen pathway, it leads to the ultimate collision course of ideals between Chris and Michael that affected their relationship more than some ever knew.
